- Since 1986 European Championships
there has been no similar chance to see the table tennis world class event
in Prague. The Prague table tennis youth have not therefore chanced to
see the teh best players from the first hand. As the admission is free
for children up to 15, the event is to be very attractive and useful to
visit to our youngest talents.
- Jan-Ove Waldner, Jörgen
Persson, Andy Grubba, Matty Syed and Petr Korbel are the real TT Masters
as well as perfect showmen and it is extraordinary experience to all table
tennis lovers to watch to its performance. Their exhibition game is attractive-to-see
to any sports spectator.
- Sokol Nusle Prague (former Slovan Orbis Prague) is long-termed successful base for table tennis education,
especially for women's table tennis. Through the years the club brought
up lot of national cup players and it has also plenty of talented young
players nowadays. The table tennis in Nusle cannot be thought apart from
Mr. Josef Janda, who leads and coaches the club for 27 consetutive years,
today. As the example of his enthusiasm, let me remember Alena Safarova,
who lived with Mr. and Mrs. Janda as their "second daughter" since her
10. When leaving Nusle for marriage in Germany, she was No. 5 in Europe.
Even Ilona Vostova-Uhlikova, the only Czech European women single champion
used to represent club for long years.
The Sokol Nusle table tennis club is financed mostly from rental incomes of its hall in Prague 4-Nusle. Due to the several
cancellations from corporates in recent months, the club faces the critical
lack of finance. The beeing of the club - where talents change into
quality, the club - multiplicate national championships title holders,
the best Czech women's table tennis team of present and the only Prague
club participating in the European Superleague - is distressed.
That is why the management of the Slovan Bohnice
Prague TT Club decided to do this exceptional step and to organize CCL
CHAMPIONS SHOW and to offer all the raised income to Sokol Nusle for the
continuation of its table tennis activities. We feel fellowship with our
colleguaes in Sokol Nusle, we appreciate the work of its coaches and strongly
believe, that this promotion event brings more attractivity to Prague table
tennis and makes the potential negotiations with club sponsors easier,
not only to both our clubs!
- Table tennis is entertainment and sport of huge number of (not only) Prague children, who are - also
thanks to sport - more resistant against the dangers of our time , drugs
and violence. It gives to children a lot of positives for future live including
the fair-play sence.
We hope the CCL CHAMPIONS SHOW may bring new
children who become interested in the game with the smallest ball to our
playrooms.
